Bringing Postpartum Support to New Moms

Several years ago, a friend who is a therapist, became pregnant. She specializes in working with children and families and thought she had the emotional aspects of becoming a mom well covered. She was rather surprised that when her daughter arrived, she became quite depressed. This was even though she knew so much about Postpartum Depression and was surrounded by helpful family. It happened long before any kind of online support groups were available.

I was concerned for my friend, so I found a face-to-face postpartum support group for her in a nearby community. Unfortunately, between her depression and trying to care for a colicky baby, it was impossible for her to travel to the one weekly meeting that was available.

Today of course we can bring our Postpartum Support Group to mothers everywhere and they don’t need to leave their babies or their homes to participate.

Our meetings connect new mothers with other moms where they can share their stories and make friends. Participants can ask for and get the help of other participants – they are not alone and they learn that others have had similar experiences.

So don’t hesitate, register for one of our Postpartum Support Group: Mood and Anxiety Help meetings today! You’ll be glad that you did.
